Volunteers enhance the quality of life in Moon Township by contributing their time, energy and talents to many projects, programs and events. Individuals and businesses as well as civic, school and social groups provide a vital service while making a difference in the lives of friends, neighbors and the community. Without this stewardship, it would be impossible for the municipal staff to deliver many of the services that make Moon Township a great place to live, learn, work and play.

Report of Criminal History from PA State Police
Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services compass.state.pa.us/cwis/public/home
A fingerprint-based Federal Criminal History is required if a volunteer 18+ has NOT resided continously in PA for the past 10 years. Township Advisory Boards and Councils
Advisory boards and councils help the township better understand the needs and desires of residents, business owners and developers. Residents who serve on these committees are advocates for the people of Moon Township; each member brings with them their own experiences, advice and input which can be influential when township supervisors vote on ordinances and make policy decisions. Moon Community Access Television
Moon Community Access Television is a community-based network of public access, educational and governmental programming owned and operated by the Township of Moon. MCA-TV relies on volunteers to produce, edit and star in locally-produced programs and is always looking for new volunteers and program ideas. Visit MCA-TV to learn more.
Environmental Advisory Council
Moon Township’s Environmental Advisory Council works to improve and protect the quality of the environment throughout the township. The EAC participates in and holds several events throughout the year that help promote a community environmental program, including the township’s annual recycling day, quarterly electronics collections, road clean-ups and participation in Moon Parks and Recreation’s annual Earth Day event. Moon Township Volunteer Fire Company
The Moon Township Volunteer Fire Company is always looking for new members to join them in serving and protecting the community. Interested residents are invited to learn more about becoming a volunteer firefighter by visiting one of the township’s fire stations on Mondays at 7 p.m. when the department conducts its weekly meeting. Moon Township Public Library
Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs
Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs, operated by the Felician Sisters of North America, focuses on actively revitalizing a 395-unit complex, home to nearly 700 people in Moon Township. Volunteers are welcome to assist the staff and children in many ways, including homework and activity help at the after school program, serving and clean up at the monthly community pasta dinners, tutoring for the adult GED program, summer kids camp activities, development and fundraising, and community gardening. Volunteers helped make Moon Park’s 50th anniversary a wonderful success. The four-day celebration included the Firecracker 5K Run/Walk, Community Day, Battle of the Bands, and the Independence Day Celebration.
